75th Anniversary
Celebrating this year its 75th anniversary, the Firm was delighted to host an Alumni Reception on November 13, 2006. Recognizing that it is the generations of lawyers who have been a a part of the H&H family over the years which has contributed to the fabric of the H&H we are today, the Firm welcomed its alumni to reminisce and reconnect with old friends and share laughter, memories and a drink with former colleagues. Greeted on entry by a life size poster of Jack Hahn, Jules Hessen, Harry Margolis and Frank Ryan dating to the mid 1960s, the evening featured a "Memorabilia Room" containing classic humor filled memos from generations past, significant firm decisions and back copies of the erstwhile newsletter, The Hagolaw. A video room ran a continuous loop of firm photos spanning fifty years of firm gatherings from holiday parties of the 1990s, to firm softball games of the 1980s and 1970s, to dinners at the infamous Empire State Club in the 1960s, accompanied by music ranging from David Bowie's "Changes" to Frank Sinatra singing "I've Heard That Song Before."
Current Managing Partner, Steve Seif thanked all in attendance for their contributions to firm history and emphasized the strength of character, perseverance and independence which had enabled the firm to thrive through a Great Depression, a World War, a Cold War, political crisis and terrorist threats with a client base "the envy of most firms in the City." George and Muriel Hahn sliced the ceremonial cake to continued celebration into the evening hours.
